Manila 2nd Grade

Hello Parents! Believe it or not the holiday season is upon us. Part of the second grade core is to learn about how we are the same and different from people in our communities, and people around our world. As teachers we will teach Holiday traditions from around the world, but we would like to invite you to share a family Holiday tradition with our class.

This family tradition can be anything that your family does, from building candy cars to Christmas morning breakfast. Each family is different, and we want to learn more about how people in our community celebrate.

What a fun week!

This week we focused on learning more about story problems in math. While this concept has been a little tricky, we are making progress!

In reading this week we talked about characters, settings, and events.

In writing we finished writing about what makes us special.

As a special treat the Karate Guy came and taught us a little about respect.

In Miss Leavitt's class THREE people lost teeth!!

Thank you to our room moms who came to Room Mother's Tea this week.

As a reminder we are building globes next Friday, and we would love for parents to come help. Please let your room mother, or teacher know if you are interested.
